I don’t see that as being the same situation. If RFA’s without a qualifying offer become UFA’s at noon July 1st they had damn well better know they’ve been tendered a qualifying offer by July 1st at noon. It’s a huge blunder on Chicago’s part and I think a penalty of some sort of penalty/slap on the wrist should be assessed but for Hawks fans’ sake I’d hate for the team to be blown up because of an oversight like this.

Ya, that really is too bad. I had a lot of hope for him in his first pro season.
